8 True Blood Characters Who Deserved A Better Ending
7. Russell
Now Russell is a character who long stayed beyond his welcome. He was entirely thrilling in the third season. In the fifth he was a let-down. Denis OHare was brilliant throughout, so it is likely down to the material he was served, but his return in season five wasnt necessary. His story should have begun and ended in season three. When we first met Russell he was a character fans loved. Towards the end of the third season that all changed, and he became a character we loved to hate. His final few episodes in that season were stunning, and he vaulted up to the top of many fans favourite character lists. He ended season three encased beneath a parking lot whilst really he should have met the true death. We like Russell, yes, but his turn in season five wasnt necessary at all. He didnt do much, apart from moon over Sookie and try and impress Steve, for some weird reason. He only really began to do something in the penultimate ending, before being killed by Eric mere moments into the finale. Surely that death could have come two seasons earlier, and saved the fans the torture of sitting through his next chapter? That said, most of season five was dire, so maybe his inclusion was necessary after all. At least his story was better than the majority of season five combined.
