8 TV Shows We Already Know Are Coming To An End In 2014
4. Peep Show
Is It A Good Thing The Show Is Ending? Sure. End Times: Late 2014 After being crowned the longest running comedy in the history of Channel 4, Peep Show is returning for their ninth and final season late this year for its last hurrah. As David Mitchell and Robert Webb have expanded their media output in the years since Peep Show's beginning in 2003, the comedic duo have already made their mark on British television regardless of how the final season turns out. The show already has several iconic moments (particularly wedding-related), and it will live on as one of the better sitcoms in recent memory regardless of how the final series plays out. Unlike shows like Friends, it doesn't rely on your continued enthusiasm about being included into the lives of the characters in order to appreciate the comedy. Basically, what's funny is particularly funny because of the characterization of Mark and Jeremy, but being familiar about the characters isn't what makes it funny in the first place. Fans of Peep Show don't love Jez and Mark like they loved Ross and Rachel, but in both shows they are destined to be together. Peep Show has been a legitimately funny series since its inception, and the freeing nature of knowing that the show is going to end could lead to more anarchic hilarity in the upcoming series.
