Introduced all the way back in 1942's Sensation Comics #1, Ted Grant - a famed boxer and renowned fighter too - was one of the founding members of the Justice Society of America, a precursor to the famous Justice League that we know today. As Wildcat, the character fought crime and took to training a new generation of heroes, most famously Black Canary, and did it all whilst finding time to kick plenty of butt on the side.

Wildcat also has something of the supernatural about him, seemingly being able to cheat death with nine lives to his name as well as having the added benefit of possessing eternal youth. Not all of these elements need to be translated to a show featuring the character, but it would be cool to see a series centre around Ted as he trains a new generation of heroes, especially with the whole 'man out of time' feel about him having the potential to create some major drama.

Ted's just a really, really interesting character to examine, and one that's - surprisingly - yet to be featured in live action in a truly authentic sense. Justice League Unlimited had the right idea in showing the character at his lowest, fighting in an illegal setting, so something that built on those foundations would make for a special show indeed.
