Over the years, Drew Barrymore has become one of Family Guy’s best and most reliable recurring guest stars. She has brought to life Brian’s girlfriend Jillian, and Chris’ teacher Mrs. Lockhart previously, but in season five she gave another the chance of a lifetime to join the Family Guy team.

When voicing Jillian in ‘Boys Do Cry’, Drew Barrymore introduced to Seth MacFarlane a young girl by the name of Camilla Stull, with a view of getting her to voice a character on the show.

12-year-old Camilla was battling Leukaemia when she was brought to Seth MacFarlane by Drew Barrymore, and had her wish granted when she was given a one-episode contract to work on the show. She provided two lines of dialogue for a beauty pageant contestant, something that wouldn’t have been possible without Barrymore.

Camilla sadly passed away just days before the episode first aired, but in the words of Seth MacFarlane, she has been “immortalized” in the episode as she had the chance to live her dream.
