8 Wild Ideas To End Game Of Thrones Without Disappointing Everyone

7. The Stark Ending

Game Of Thrones Wedding Ending
HBO

Rejected by Jon, then by Tyrion and finally by the people of Westeros for her hand in the destruction of King’s Landing, but finally and forever refusing to become her father or her brother: Queen Daenerys Targaryen, Mother Of Dragons, abandons Westeros to reclaim her eastern kingdom, taking Drogon and the remaining Dothraki and Unsullied with her.

Reluctantly, Jon becomes King of the seven kingdoms - but not through publication of his true parentage. No one wants another Targaryen on the throne. Sansa’s plan is to replace a bizarre truth with a more believable lie: Jon is made a Stark when signed papers are ‘found’ proving that, before he died, Robert Baratheon intended to honour his best friend Eddard by legitimising his bastard son.

Sansa is named the Hand of the King, remaining the Lady of Winterfell, and Ser Brienne becomes Wardeness Of The North, knighting Podrick Payne. Tyrion, sick of the game of thrones, returns to Casterly Rock, using the last of his political capital to free a certain Bronn of the Blackwater, who is remembered rather too well as one of the dead Queen’s fixers.

Samwell and Davos return home to their respective lands, thankful that their part in these great events is now over.

Finally, Arya is named the new Lady of Highgarden and is absolutely furious about it. However, Ravens are received from Storm’s End on a very regular basis.
