Damn, it's another one starring Freema Agyeman! This isn't some sort of personal vendetta, we swear. We actually think Martha Jones is one of the most underrated companions in Doctor Who history. Promise. The only reason Crossroads will be going down in history, however, is for being the worst soap opera of all time. It was so bad that the powers of be got rid of it in the 80s and, while shows that manage to survive their own cancellation should be rewarded for their staying power (hell, it worked out OK for a certain Time Lord!), some shows really are better off being left dead and buried. Freema joined the cast ensemble as Lola Wise upon its 2001 revival, an ambitious 'good time' girl who tried to pass herself off as a completely unconvincing pop star before getting a job in a hotel kitchen instead. It ended up getting the inevitable axe again in 2003 when the writers totally gave up on it and revealed that it had all been a dream in the last minute of the final episode. A nightmare, more like.
