8. Aliens Of London & World War Three

Doctor Who 9th Doctor
BBC Studios

After several adventures in time and space, Rose decides she wants to visit home for a sec, convinced she's only been gone a day at most. Turns out it's been an entire year, because the TARDIS loves messing with the strays her Doctor brings home. Rose's friends and family are rightly pissed about Rose running off with some madman with a box, and them left holding the bag for the police.

The Doctor has his hands full enough as it is, as you can imagine, so the last thing he needs is an alien ship crashing down into the river Thames and smashing up Big Ben.

As the crash-landing chaos unfolds, everyone of even minor importance in Britain is called in to find out what's going on. But The Doctor smells something fishy, and what follows is the first big event two-parter of the series, something that would become a series staple, appearing at least once in most future series.

While not the best of every two-parter like it, even within this series, it is still a fun time regardless.
