5. The Parting Of Ways

Doctor Who 9th Doctor
BBC

Due to various creative differences between Eccleston and Davies, as well as the former going through some serious health issues at the time, the 9th Doctor's era was cut to a quick close, with a lot of what they had planned being folded neatly into Tennant's first season.

But at least they gave 9 a fantastic send off, with The Doctor, Rose, and Jack Harkness coming face to face with the Dalek Emperor (which you'd think would be Davros since he created them, but isn't for...reasons), and the last true Dalek fleet. The Daleks have The Doctor surrounded, quickly take away all of his resources, and then kidnap Rose for good measure. He has nothing, not even a plan, and the Daleks have the mightiest armada known to Dalek-kind.

Frankly, the Daleks should be scared to death.

While having a rushed feeling to it for obvious reasons, particularly the regeneration scene, The Parting of Ways is still an epic closer to a short but sweet era of Doctor Who - and of course, it paved the way for greater things to come.
