10 Returning Comic-Book TV Shows (And When You Can See Them)

4. Arrow

The CW

Where We Left Off: Oliver Queen had given up archery/crimefighting as the Arrow to build a life with Felicity, leaving Speedy, Black Canary and Diggle to keep order in Star City. Ra's Al Ghul was just about defeated (or as defeated as an immortal can be) and Diggle and Thea came more into their own as fighters.

Where We're Going: The return of Ra's' old associate Damien Darhk will pull Oliver and Felicity out of retirement, and the Arrowcave is going to get a swankier look that may foreshadow Oliver getting a formal team of heroes around him. He's also getting a new costume which may relate to the title of the first new episode: "Green Arrow." And John Constantine will be coming to town, which usually means supernatural trouble's afoot.

Latest News: Executive producer Wendy Mericle claims without irony that Arrow Season 4's trailer "is going to break the Internet." We'll all find out soon enough: though no release date has been given for the trailer, Arrow itself will return only five weeks from now.

Tomatometer Score: 95. Despite this high rating, Arrow is a very uneven series, at times degrading into a tiring slog with a lead who keeps breaking the trust of his closest friends, at times coming into its own as a thrilling, gripping action-adventure story about a man's quest for identity.

Returning: October 7.
