9 Doctor Who Actors You Didn't Know Could Sing

3. Karen Gillan

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AN2ntx4kPO4 Seriously. Is there anything she can't do?! Fans of The Girl Who Waited were left disheartened when it was announced that she'd be leaving Doctor Who back in 2012 but there's been plenty of her real life alter ego to go around - and then some - since she bid her raggedy man farewell in Series 7. After adding the likes of Not Another Happy Ending, Oculus and Guardians of the Galaxy to her reputable résumé, Karen landed her biggest post-Pond role to date last year when she was cast as the lead in her very own US sitcom, Selfie. OK, so it was axed halfway through its first season (hashtag, the feels), but it was certainly... erm, 'fun' while it lasted. Karen's character, Eliza Dooley, was basically a social media fiend on a personal mission to recover her tarnished image and in one powerful character-driven moment, she randomly took to the stage for a poignant performance of Sia's Chandelier. Her impressive vocal abilities won't have come to any surprise to long time fans of Karen & The Babes, of course, but if you didn't know already, Karen Gillan can sing as well as just about everything else. So there you go.
