3. The Gods (Xena: Warrior Princess)

Let me just say, gods should not be on this list. But if you're immortal, all-seeing, can control the elements, throw fireballs, and teleport but can never seem to win, then you've got to look to their intelligence for a reason why. On the other hand the opponent is Xena, and it has been posited that she is half God. (Aries possibly knocked up her mother). This would explain why Xena can plan the future, hold her own in a sword fight with the gods and in general know when they are around. However, if Xena can be so formidable as a possible a half god, shouldn't a full god be able to overcome her powers? Doesn't seem so. The gods of Xena just couldn't manage to kill either her, Gabrielle or baby Eve. If the prophecy that Eve would bring about the destruction of the gods has been around for pretty much forever, doesn't that mean they should've cut Xena's family line long time ago? Perhaps they could've had her father meet someone other than her mother. On the other hand, if she really is the daughter of Aries, couldn't he have made himself infertile for one night? Even assuming the prophecy did sneak up on them, wouldn't it have been easier to just give a call to the Fates rather than trying to kill Xena outright? The Fates apparently are not that powerful €“ Caesar managed to overpower them and create a world in which Xena was his wife, after all. There were about a million ways this should have went down and the death of the gods was not one of them.
