9 Famous TV Villains You Didn't Realise Were Complete Morons

2. The Borg (Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Voyager)

"We are the Borg. Your biological and technological distinctiveness will be added to our own. Resistance is futile." From the time Q dragged the Enterprise into unknown territory and right in the path of the Borg cube, they've been the number one villain of Star Trek: The Next Generation. The Borg had massive ships they could regenerate themselves, superior speed, billions of drones and most importantly, a massive intelligence of billions of minds linked together in one consciousness. To make that clearer, you, as a resistor, are not strategising against one single mind €“ you're up against billions. How are the captains going to pull this off? Well, they did, which should suggest The Borg should really be a little bit more selective about the minds they add to their ranks because they make all sorts of terrible decisions after their introduction. Who thought that recruiting Picard would make assimilation of the human race easier? This isn't like when a parent gets a shot to show the baby it will be ok? Additionally, why not send more ships €“ the Borg always send 2 or 3 ships to invade Earth, which seems like some wholly unnecessary budgeting if you're looking to wipe out some sort of tangible threat. On Voyager, why did the Borg just not seal up the trans-dimensional opening so that species 8472 couldn't invade instead of leaving it open? One more point, in the Voyager series finale, why did the Borg Queen not scan Admiral Janeway for pathogens before connecting her to the hive, a pathogen that ultimately destroyed the Borg consciousness? All these questions point to one conclusion €“ despite their qualifications, The Borg were just stupid.
