9 Unmissable New TV Shows Starring Doctor Who Actors

7. Sense8

There's been a distinct lack of Freema Agyeman on our telly boxes since she stood down as junior crown prosecutor Alesha Phillips in ITV's crime drama Law & Order: UK. If you were holding out for her subsequent role as the hip, cutting edge style editor Larissa Loughlin in the Sex and the City prequel series The Carrie Diaries to be her big US break, your hopes were ultimately in vain when the show was cancelled after two seasons. Still, fans of Martha Jones don't have much longer to wait until Freema returns to their screens as she'll be starring in a new highly anticipated series called Sense8 which will land exclusively, and in its entirety, on Netflix on 5th June. Billed as this summer's must see sci-fi series, the ambitious 10 part saga, produced by the creators of The Matrix trilogy (which may/may not put you off!) follows the lives of 8 strangers around the world who become simultaneously united and divided by technology. There's no news about Freema's character yet but she'll be sharing the screen with other cult icons including Naveen Andrews from Lost and Stargate Universe's Brian J. Smith. High hopes for this one!
