9 Unmissable New TV Shows Starring Doctor Who Actors
8. Gracepoint
Broadchurch broke ratings records when it premiered to critical acclaim in 2013 and the entire nation was kept on the edge of their seats as they watched the web of lies unfold in one of the biggest whodunnits in British television history. It was only a matter of time until US execs attempted to capitalise on its uncharted success and the mighty task of relaunching it for an American audience ultimately landed in the more than capable hands of Fox. And thus Gracepoint was born! The 10-part remake even had David Tennant in it to ease its transition across the pond as he took on the leading role of Detective Emmett Carver who joined forces with Olivia Coleman Anna Gunn as Detective Ellie Miller to investigate the murder of a boy in a small, tightly knit coastal town. Sound familiar? Don't worry, it's supposed to, and UK fans can experience the ensuing drama for themselves as it's currently airing exclusively on ITV Encore. Don't get too attached because less than favourable ratings meant that it hasn't been picked up for a second season. It's certainly fun while it lasts, though. If 'fun' is even the right word to describe a murder mystery...
