9 Reasons Ash Vs. Evil Dead Is Better Than The Walking Dead

3. Virtually No Censorship

In the first four minutes of Ash vs. Evil Dead, our "hero" seduces a lonely barfly, gets down and dirty with her in the ladies room, and after (seemingly) witnessing her turn into a deadite, if only momentarily, still manages to finish, all the while adding some solid smacks on her posterior with his fake hand. Not bad for an old guy. Now, make no mistake, The Walking Dead is no slouch in the gore department, but outside of that, it has been very restrained despite portraying a lawless world. Take the recent, Daryl-centric episode Always Accountable, which skirted around the concept of just what people had left to trade in a lawless world. The obvious answer: themselves, or at least other people. Yet the issue of forced prostitution, while hinted at, was never openly addressed. Ash vs. Evil Dead goes the other route. Arguably even more over the top with the gore, it's also not afraid to use sexuality and off-colour humour either - which makes the show seem much more alive (no pun intended) than the AMC stalwart. Curse words seem to be a-okay as well.
