4. The Fun Factor

People having a good time tend to be contagious. And it's clear that the cast of Ash vs. Evil Dead are having fun. That allows viewers to have fun as well. And once the fans are having fun, they're more than willing to suspend their disbelief when it comes to some of the crazier stuff going on in the show (Ash's old hand, we're looking at you!). Now, while The Walking Dead is a more somber show intentionally, the fact that you don't really get any break from the bleakness of its world can become grating after a while. It's just despair, despair, despair. After six seasons, it's a little much. The humour of Ash vs. Evil Dead really gives it an edge.
