9 Reasons Doctor Who Hates Cats

8. The Sixth Doctor

Colin Baker's a fine actor and often underrated for his performance as TARDIS pilot No. 6. Yet the general consensus is that he was let down by disarray on the production side, his era beset by underdeveloped ideas and BBC infighting. His look gets the most stick, appearing as he does like the custodian of a Dickensian paint factory. The image was completed by the addition of a badge. And which animal did they use to sum up this shoddiest of incarnations? That's right... the cat! Purportedly symbolizing the Doctor's independent spirit and untamed nature, this ended up being a garnish on a steaming bowl of nowt, adding precious little to the regeneration as a whole. In fact, he rarely referred to the creature he loved so much, aside from a line in The Two Doctors where, temporarily Androgummed, he expressed a desire to eat one!
