9 Reasons Doctor Who Hates Cats

7. The Kitling

When any Whovian thinks about cats in relation to their top TV programme, they think of Survival, the story that rounded off both the Sylvester McCoy years and the Classic Series in... style? The yarn naturally forms a big part of this article, starting with an expose of the Kitling. This diminutive, seemingly-domesticated bugger wasn't merely doing his business in peoples' gardens. He was also seeking out potential prey for his furry masters the Cheetah People. This involved a confusing mix of teleport-based abilities as he would zap unfortunate milkmen and the like to a volcanic home world as well as bring Cheetahs to the suburbs for some reason to attack the unwary. In addition to making kids scared of household cats, this scenario also utilized an animatronic feline that probably cost the Beeb an arm and a leg in 1989 and was about as convincing as a prosthetic arm-wrestling match.
