9 Star Trek Characters Who Deserve A Spin-Off Series

5. Cristobal Rios

Captain Cristóbal Rios was first introduced in Star Trek: Picard Season One as the roguish, emotionally wounded former Starfleet officer in command of the freighter S.S La Sirena. At the beginning of Picard Season Two, he was back in Starfleet commanding a refit U.S.S Stargazer. However, at the end of Season Two, Rios stayed in the 21st century with his new love Teresa Ramirez and her son Ricardo instead of returning to the restored 25th century and his command.

A Rios series would combine medical drama and adventure as it follows Rios, Teresa, and their team, the Mariposas, around the world helping the less fortunate including refugees, the poor, indigenous tribes, and other victims of social and political injustice.

Much like series such as The Fugitive, The Incredible Hulk, and The A-Team, the protagonists of the Rios series would find themselves balancing their mission with Rios's need to protect his true identity. However, instead of just hiding from law enforcement and the government as in those earlier series, Rios would also need to protect himself from time travelers, aliens, and other antagonists that would exploit his knowledge of the future.
