9 Things That Need To Happen Before Brooklyn Nine-Nine Ends

What do we need to see from the Nine Nine before it's all over?

Brooklyn Nine Nine
NBC

Brooklyn Nine Nine has been running since 2013, and has earned a place in our hearts for its inoffensive, lighthearted humour and thoughtful, socially conscious storylines.

Season 7 finished airing earlier this year, and seemed to be wrapping up a number of plot threads, which begs the question: how long do we have until the show ends?

While the show does typically consist of single episode arcs, we've spent the last 7 years following the Nine Nine and the gradual and often subtle development of the squad has been one of the show's most rewarding aspects for its audience.

Even though Brooklyn Nine Nine's team of writers and producers do their best to tie up any and all loose ends, there are a few dangling threads and nagging questions still to answer, and a lot of things that fans really hope don't go unsaid.

How are Gina and her daughter Enigma? What's going on with Pimento? What will parenthood be like for Jake and Amy? There are so many things that fans are still hoping to see or hear, and it seems certain that the Nine Nine will indulge them on at least a few of them.

Here are 9 (!) things that NEED to happen before Brooklyn Nine Nine ends.

9. Closure On Gina

Gina Linetti was one of the Nine Nine's biggest characters.

Larger than life, unbelievably self-confident and surprisingly sensible, Gina spent years as one of the show's stand-out characters before actress Chelsea Peretti decided to move on part-way into season six.

After making a guest appearance later in the same season, Gina wasn't seen or even mentioned during the recently aired seventh season, leaving fans wondering whether or not we'll ever see the Nine Nine's former administrator ever again.

While the future of Gina and Jake's lifelong friendship was acknowledged in the character's most recent appearance, the door was left very much open to Gina's return, meaning that we'll likely see her again before the show's time is up.

But seeing Gina is only half the battle. After her notable absence from season seven, it throws a shadow of doubt over whether we'll actually see her again. While we were led to believe that Gina and Jake would maintain their friendship, there's been no evidence of it in the past year, and all we really want to know is that Gina is okay, and that she's still the human embodiment of the 100 emoji.
