Yes, that softly spoken film reviewer who you cant imagine hurting a fly has a long-standing feud with our hero. Danny HATES him, really despises him. "If I see him I don't know how I'm going to react," he once told the Independent, "I'll probably just put the nut on him. You can probably guess that Dyers ire stems from several bad reviews Kermode has given his movies, but the criticism goes much further than that. You see Kermode has developed an impression of Dyer which he adopts whenever he reviews one of his movies. It involves his voice going all high-pitched and slightly cockney, and if were being honest sounds very little like him. But that doesnt matter to Dyer. He tries to argue he was asked by Harold Pinter to be in three of his plays, and that should make Kermode respect him. Yet it doesnt. His impression keeps on surfacing, making Dyer angrier and angrier. Our paths will meet, one day, and there wont be no talking, he told Pure Movies.
