Agent Carter: 10 Easter Eggs, In-Jokes And References
7. Zandow The Strong-Man
Speaking of minor Marvel characters in Agent Carter, another individual that you probably didn't know was adapted from the comics is the pretty obscure character of Zandow the Strong-Man.
Appearing in the original run of Captain America comics in 1941 (#4, fact fans), Zandow was a circus strong man who was hired by the Nazis to wipe out key military officials, under the guise of being part of a touring circus, until that Star-Spangled Man with a Plan socked him on the jaw.
In Agent Carter, he appears in episode three Time And Tide as the guard Leviathan agent Leet Brannis (who himself is derived from the comics) puts in charge of the stolen hoard of Howard Stark's inventions. Despite his formidable strength, Peggy bested Zandow in a fight and he was later killed by Leviathan for his failure.
