8. The New Nick Fury
With the team back in their "original" timeline (much more on that later), Mack is able to resume being the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., and the series ends with him rocking a very familiar trenchcoat aboard a Helicarrier. The only thing he's missing is an eyepatch, and it's surprising the show didn't find a way of giving him one in order to essentially create a new Nick Fury!
At the end of Avengers: Infinity War, Fury and Maria Hill were shown to still be working together, while Spider-Man: Far From Home's post-credits scene would reveal that the former S.H.I.E.L.D. Director is currently in outer space alongside Captain Marvel's Skrull allies.
As a result, it's hard to believe that he wouldn't know Mack is out there running a new version of S.H.I.E.L.D., while this newly formed group has also somehow eluded the attention of Earth's Mightiest Heroes thus far as well. Regardless, this feels like the right ending for Mack, and "Macklena" fans will be pleased to know he and Yo-Yo remain an item as he refers to the agent as "sweetheart."
