Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D: 6 Ups And 4 Downs From Season 2
3. The Real S.H.I.E.L.D - Down
The reveal that Mack and Bobbi were working for the real S.H.I.E.L.D could and should have been an excellent twist, one that provided a great story arc for the show and offered plenty of moments of intrigue and suspense. Instead, because of the aforementioned pacing issues, it ended up feeling rushed, and didnt have the same impact it really should have done. It had some good ideas, but ultimately didnt really get the chance to follow through on them as it took a backseat to other plots, and by the time their leader Robert Gonzales was killed in the season finale, it didnt really seem to matter that much. The discovery of Hydra within S.H.I.E.L.D, and the subsequent divide, worked perfectly. This similar attempt at division, but between two different sets of good guys, didnt manage it, although it could come into play again later down the line (with more success) when the show ties into Captain America: Civil War (which it will presumably do during season 3).
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
