9. Daniel Whitehall
The Episode: What They Become
At the tail end of World War II, HYDRA agent Werner Reinhardt was captured by Peggy Carter and the SSR, with all of his research and discoveries - including the Kree body that would later be at the center of the TAHITI project - being rounded up. After decades of imprisonment, HYDRA freed Reinhardt, with the doctor's continuing experiments leading to the mutilation of Jiaying and his rejuvenation as Daniel Whitehall.
With the Diviner coming into play at the start of the second season, Whitehall and Coulson's team began clashing, with Skye's father Cal Zabo also in the mix seeking revenge against Whitehall for destroying his family.
In What They Become, everyone's paths finally came together in Puerto Rico, with Whitehall finally having nowhere to run when cornered by Cal. Before Cal could act upon the years of vengeance he'd been seeking, Coulson shot and killed Whitehall instead.
