5. Operation: Brain Blast
Operation: Brain Blast is an actual storyline from the old Strange Tales comic that featured Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D. This story introduced the ESP Division, a subsection of S.H.I.E.L.D. made up of agents with psychic abilities. Unfortunately S.H.I.E.L.D.'s background checking prowess was less than stellar because somehow the guy who would come to be known as the villain Mentallo was a part of the ESP Division and he (along with his partner The Fixer) tried to use his mental abilities to take over the organization. Showing signs of the first class loser that he would ultimately become known as, Mentallo failed in his grab for power but the S.H.I.E.L.D. ESP Division lived on. Considering that Loki was able to mind control half of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Hawkeye in the Avengers movie, it is past time for the ESP Division make an appearance and there is no better place to show its beginning than on the TV. The story could even follow the original Operation: Brain Blast story with an evil ESP Division agent trying to take over S.H.I.E.L.D. and only Coulson's team is left to stop him.
