Agents Of SHIELD: 10 Things That Need To Happen In Season 3

6. A Stronger Connection To The Films

Throughout its run, Agents Of SHIELD has come under fire for making out like it was a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, whilst never quite having explicit ties to those multiplex-conquering blockbusters. Lady Sif turned up in a post-Thor: The Dark World episode, yes, and Samuel L Jackson's Nick Fury cameo was fun.

But those were only brief appearances, by supporting characters. Obviously you're not going to get Chris Evans, Pratt or Hemsworth on an ABC show (the salaries and schedules just don't work out), but as a result it doesn't feel like Agents Of SHIELD actually does take place in the same universe as the Marvel movies.

It doesn't help that Joss Whedon thinks as the big and small screen Agent Coulsons as totally different characters. This is a problem that needs to be fixed in film and on TV: if not actual cameos, at least make Agents Of SHIELD feel more included in movie events. Similarly, maybe they should be in the next Captain America film, even briefly?
