This might have been mentioned earlier, but yeah, Coulson discovered that an alien's blood was used to help bring him back to the dead shortly after finding the blue, heavily-autopsied corpse of said alien in a covert SHIELD base. The ramifications for the series and the rest of the MCU are nothing short of tantalising. For one thing, the extraterrestrial was blue, which is the same colour as the Kree we've seen in Guardians of the Galaxy, so there's some interesting connective tissue there. Was the alien perhaps abducted around the same time that Peter Quill was abducted? For another, the Kree have been namedropped previously in the show (by the Asgardian Sif during her guest turn) and the alien race has strong ties to the comics origins of the Inhumans and at least two Captain Marvels, both properties that have been strongly hinted at as 'in development' by Marvel Studios. Does this mean there'll be the origins of the next generation of MCU heroes on the small screen? Could be.
