12. Wait, Who Are The Good Guys Now?

Still Coulson and his core team: hacker Skye, pilot/unflinching badass Melinda May and science whiz kids Fitz & Simmons. There was a late addition to the team in Agent Antoine Triplett who's basically smart muscle and was formerly partnered with Garrett before the former knew how evil he was. Triplett's also kind of replacing Grant Ward as one of Coulson's agents, chiefly because it turned out Ward had been working for Hydra and Garrett his whole adult life and was kind of psychopathic. He even killed the adorably goofy Agent Koenig (played by Patton Oswalt) in cold blood, which is pretty hard to come back from, although Ward's still a series regular so it seems like he might be seeking some redemption from his old buddies this season. Other than that, there aren't a whole lot of people Coulson can trust. Hydra's still out there in more or less full force, and while we'll likely see people like Maria Hill and Nick Fury show up now and then, the burden of rebuilding SHIELD and restoring some kind of order to the world is going to be squarely on Director Coulson's shoulders.
