Agents Of SHIELD: 15 Things You Need To Know Before Season 2 Starts

11. There Are Plenty Of New Faces...

The recent spate of casting announcements for AoS season 2 has been the most exciting since the series began. In the spirit of brevity, let's quickly run down who'll be showing up in the first few episodes: Lucy Lawless as Agent Isabelle Hartley, Nick Blood & Henry Simmons (who have both been announced as series regulars) as Lance Hunter and Alphonso "Mac" Mackenzie, Reed Diamond as Daniel "Kraken" Whitehall, Simon Kassianides as Sunil Bakshi, Brian Patrick Wade as Crusher Creel, Adrianne Palicki as Bobbi Morse and Kyle MacLachlan as Skye's father. Phew. That's rather a lot of names to take in, no? As exciting as getting any new blood into a show is, there are a few familiar names that stand out. Lawless was obviously a fan favourite as Xena and will likely be playing a key supporting role, at least in the early episodes, but it's Palicki and MacLachlan who are really drawing the attention. As most Marvel comics readers will know, Bobbi Morse's alter-ego is the superhero Mockingbird, so we'll probably be seeing that character's origin on the small screen, which may lead to future crossovers with the MCU film characters. She was once married to Hawkeye in the comics, after all... MacLachlan is another prospect altogether. Any time the actor returns to the small screen is a cause for celebration for any Twin Peaks fan, and his future appearance as Skye's mysterious father who probably knows more about her secret origin than anyone else is no different.
