9. I Thought There Were Cyborgs In This Show. Where Are The Cyborgs?

The short answer is that Coulson blew them up. But that's not quite accurate. John Garrett, aka The Clairvoyant, was running a program utilising various dangerous technologies (like the Extremis serum from Iron Man 3) and powered biologies (like Scorch, an unfortunate flame-user from an early season 1 episode) to develop his own army of cybernetic supersoldiers. Unfortunately for him, Coulson shut down his operation and blew Garrett up rather definitively, so there's not much chance of him picking up where they left off. However, there is one loose end still dangling; namely Mike Peterson, now known as Deathlok, who is half-man-half-machine and was one of the first successful Centipede test subjects. He disappeared at the end of season 1 to find a reason for himself to go on living...and we've a feeling that reason may end up being helping Coulson and his fledgling SHIELD operation fight evildoers the world over.
