8. There Was A Lot Of Betrayal Last Season

What with the whole 'SHIELD is actually being controlled by Hydra' thing from The Winter Soldier and the end of AoS' first season, you'd be right in thinking that there were a lot of traitors in the team's midst. Aside from key members of SHIELD's hierarchy being double agents (Alexander Pierce and Jasper Sitwell being two notable examples from Cap 2), Grant Ward also declared his true allegiance by killing several agents: the aforementioned Eric Koenig, some nameless security agents and The Hub's big cheese, Victoria Hand. (Though from the looks of the most recent trailer, that might not be the last we've seen of Agent Hand.) As a result, Coulson's not likely to be as trusting a sort as he was last season and will need to exercise extreme caution in who he selects to be part of his new organisation, so we'll be seeing a new, tougher side to the recently-instated Director of SHIELD.
