Agents Of SHIELD: 8 Theories On Skye's Parents' Identity

4. A Deviant

If you want to have something that looks like a straight up monster attacking something in the Marvel Universe then it€™s easy to reach for a Deviant. They€™re an evolutionary offshoot of humanity who were originally created by the Celestials alongside the non-monstrous Eternals and whose rise to power (and subsequent fall) has been lost to modern history. Both the Deviants and their brethren have very complex histories - you can read all about them on the official Marvel website. But the intriguing thing is that they have an interesting view on childbearing, as they take no joy in copulating and so their numbers have not increased by any real degree, despite that they've been around for a million years or so. This causes some problems with the theory really, as why would a Deviant father be at all interested in finding his daughter, and why would Skye not look at all like them? Plus, it doesn't explain the reaction to the blue alien€™s blood. It fits the monster description but there just seems to be far too many holes in this particular theory. Additionally the introduction of both these races would muddy the MCU considerably, even if Skye was in fact an Eternal.
