Agents Of Shield: 8 Things That Will Need To Change After Captain America 2
4. The US Army Takes An Interest
Given the end of SHIELD, there will be a serious number of agents dotted around the globe along with a lot of advanced technology that will be up for grabs. Several agencies will attempt to rush into that power vacuum in order to take control of those resources. The US Army can be expected to be a major player in the show for at least one episode. This is shown by the casting of Adrian Pasdar (better known as Nathan Petrelli in Heroes) as Glenn Talbot in an upcoming episode the character is a US Army Major who was previously played by Josh Lucas in the 2003 Hulk film. It seems likely that whatever issue the Army is going to have with Coulson's team will be wrapped up in a single episode as Pasdar is currently only signed on for one episode. Naturally this might not be so straight forward as that with the lack of SHIELD around, Coulson might be forced to go to the Army for help and be assigned Talbot as his liaison. They would have the next best thing to the resources that SHIELD have, but would have a great deal more interest in taking anything they find for their own use. That will certainly go against Coulson's views, as he wouldn't want to see alien technology potentially weaponised by the American military.
