Agents Of Shield: 8 Things That Will Need To Change After Captain America 2

3. Is The Clairvoyant A Force For Good?

When it was revealed that Ian Quinn only shot Skye because the Clairvoyant told him to, it started to become apparent that the Clairvoyant was deliberately manipulating characters €“ but the actual identity of that character and his/her real motives are not yet known. However, after the revelation that HYDRA had infiltrated SHIELD in Captain America: The Winter Soldier €“ is the Clairvoyant actually a force for good? The character has been trying to find out what saved the life of Agent Coulson, and presumably now knows what happened due to their abilities but is unable to access the facility after it was destroyed in T.A.H.I.T.I. But was that simply a cover to tell some of their employees who have a somewhat dubious nature like Ian Quinn, or was telling Quinn that all part of the ongoing manipulation? Is the Clairvoyant attempting to prepare and guide Coulson's team through what will be a very turbulent time when SHIELD is dismantled, so that they are still in a position to protect the Earth from threats following the events of Guardians of the Galaxy? If that is all true, then perhaps the Clairvoyant is someone like Cassandra Webb, as she would be very interested in any technology which could be used to heal... but would that character fall on the Marvel side of the fence, or the Fox side?
