Ahsoka Episode 1 Review - 7 Ups & 2 Downs
6. Up - The Score
The music in Star Wars has always been special. From the opening fanfare and the French horn on Tatooine, to the Imperial March and more, the score of the galaxy far, far away is incredibly important.
Throughout 'Master and Apprentice' the score was excellent, and though there was nothing quite on the same level as any of these iconic pieces from John Williams, there was one moment so powerful it could strike fear into anyone watching.
During a conversation about being a mentor, Hera told Ahsoka she imagined her to be difficult for her master at times. Ahsoka turned away thoughtfully, and as she spoke about Anakin there was a shift in tone. It may have only been one or two beats, but the score went to a darker place and elevated the entire scene.
Hayden Christensen’s voice has been featured speaking previously unheard dialogue in the Ahsoka trailer, leading many to expect that Vader will make an appearance in the series at some point. This scene fueled that excitement and anticipation with just two notes.
