4. New Tokyo
So far, we've only seen how the future has affected Los Angeles. Detective Stahl dropped a hint about the world at large by mentioning New Tokyo, but gave no real explanation about it. Is old Tokyo still there? Or are there now two Tokyos, meaning Japan may have expanded its borders? It may have been a mere throwaway line in this episode, but like the fission bomb, is a clue the writers have planted for us to ponder before they explore it in future episodes, while telling us that a lot has changed between the present day and 2048.
