Amazon's Hanna: 10 Questions Season 2 Needs To Answer
8. Will Dieter Atone For His Betrayal?
With the rest of Erik's army buddies out of the picture, Dieter is one of Hanna's few remaining allies. Depending on how much Hanna knows of his betrayal, she may not seek his help unless she finds herself in a tight bind. On the other hand, the loss of her father may actually increase her respect for a man who does whatever it takes to protect his children.
Hanna may also recognize that Erik's imprisonment was directly responsible for his access to the Utrax Regenesis files. If not for Dieter, Hanna would ever have met Trainee 249 - the first friend she's ever had who can truly understand what it's like to live with heightened senses and killer instincts. Again, this assumes that Erik told her about Dieter's betrayal at some point during their road trip to Darabani.
If approached for help, Dieter's conscience should be heavy enough for him to extend a hand; however, he still has to consider his family's safety. This means that he won't be as likely to help unless he feels confident that his family is protected.
Hanna and 249 can offer that protection if they succeed in freeing the other trainees. Not only will they have additional allies to help guard Dieter's family, but Dieter will have something unique to offer in return. Since the goal is to free the Utrax subjects from a life of servitude, those girls will need entirely new lives - something Dieter provides to migrants on a regular basis.
