Amazon's Hanna: 10 Questions Season 2 Needs To Answer
6. How Long Has Wiegler Been Under Surveillance?
When Erik first accesses the Utrax files after his escape from Jerome Sawyer's interrogation room, there's a folder underneath the Regenesis tab labeled "Paris_files." It's the only location-specific file other than the one on Berlin. It makes sense for Utrax to have a file on Berlin, as they've been waiting for Erik to resurface for quite some time. The file on Paris, Wiegler's current home city, raises some questions.
Utrax started tracking Wiegler's calls when she started defying orders, but it's possible that they've actually been keeping tabs on her for much longer than that. It's also possible (although not necessarily likely) that Olivier is a plant. Her defiance of Sawyer's orders is often either preceded or followed by Olivier's demands for information. He knows that she can't tell him where she went or what she did, yet he still asks every time.
Olivier's call to Wiegler in the penultimate episode of the season is particularly noteworthy. Right after Wiegler survives an assassination attempt, Olivier - likely the only person whose call she would answer at such a time - just happens to ring her up. Once Utrax lost touch with the agents in charge of Wiegler's death, the easiest way to confirm her survival would be to simply have her answer the phone.
Regardless of whether Olivier is actually involved, the Paris files are troubling. If Utrax is surveilling Wiegler, it will be twice as hard for her to deceive them. The season finale appears to set up Wiegler's undercover infiltration of the Utrax hierarchy, but she could just as easily be walking into a trap.
