10. Klaus Heissler
Let's rewind nine years to 2004. I was asked by my psychology teacher to describe something that epitomises desolation. "Very well, sir" I said, "t'would be a former German skier, trapped in the body of a fish, of course." Cut to one year later, and what do you know? Seth MacFarlane has created just that. But it's not sole-crushing depression that allows Klaus a place on this list, it's the fact that his persona is laced with the maniacal behaviour of a psychotic Bond villain. Look closely at the picture above and the lonely, isolated figure you thought you saw will slowly turn into the very picture of pure evil, for years of human rejection have left this particular goldfish scheming for revenge. We can look back at 'Surro-Gate', with Klaus promising to unleash "the vengeful flames of a thousand suns" upon Steve and Roger for throwing him down a water slide. And there is of course, his mad obsession with Francine, which is almost realised when his brain gets put back into a human body in 'Finances With Wolves.' Yes, Klaus Heissler is the fish-in-the-grass/snake-in-the-fishbowl that always seems to be one step away from causing mayhem in the Smith household, which solidifies his place on this list at number 10.
