6. Aliens

In Season 2's Asylum, aliens were partially used in the story of Kit and Alma, who were inspired by the first people who first claimed they were abducted by aliens, Barney and Betty Hill. In this adaptation, however, the producers could mainly focus on alien abduction as the main theme for the season. There are many alien abduction stories the producers could take inspiration from and it can literally be based on any point in time. There was an alleged abduction in Kentucky where three women were driving and got abducted. Afterwards they were hypnotised and all of them had the same story. They were even given lie detector tests and passed. It was also reported that there were UFO sightings in the area at the same time. Another story that's quite fascinating is the one that the film The Fourth Kind was based on. It's about a number of people in Alaska believing that they're being abducted by aliens. When hyptonised, they all tell similar stories and become murderous and suicidal once their session are over. The film was quite chilling in itself, but an American Horror Story take would probably be so much scarier.
