American Horror Story: 10 Most Hated Episodes

7. Bullseye (S4E6)

American Horror Story: Freak Show was an alright season. It wasn't awful, but it wasn't the best.

The sixth episode, like the season, wasn't awful. But it was something a lot of fans of American Horror Story hate... a filler episode. Every character had a moment, but overall it didn't necessarily DO anything.

As one critic wrote:

This is like Alice in Wonderland up in here -- everyone just comes and goes so quickly.

Though the knife-throwing scene was entertaining, the rest of the episode felt drawn out with no real payoffs. We learn more of Elsa's obsession with becoming famous no matter who she steps on. Dandy discovers Dot hates him and only allows Bette to fawn over him so they can use his money for a possible separation surgery. Jimmy believes Elsa sold the twins off, angry at his mother for blindly trusting Elsa's word. Maggie plans to kill Ma Petite, but then doesn't.

Subplots were thrown at the audience seemingly out of nowhere. Elsa and Paul's tryst, Paul and the candy-striper from the hospital in Episode 1 who are, apparently, in love, and Del and Desiree apparently taking the night off from the Freak Show (seriously, where were they?).

But overall, fans really felt the loss of Twisty the murderous Clown, who died two episodes prior.

Too much was packed into a 73 minute episode. For an already okay season, the episode just felt meh.
