American Horror Story: 10 Most Hated Episodes

2. Sojourn (S8E8)

If there is one thing American Horror Story fans hate, it's filler episodes. Every season has them. Every season is guilty. But when the inevitable filler episode happens to come out on regularly-reserved-for-shocking-episode Halloween week? Prepare for all out war.

That's what happened during American Horror Story: Apocalypse's eighth episode, Sojourn. In general the episode wasn't terrible, a common note for most filler episodes, but it happened to play the week of Halloween. Traditionally in AHS history, the Halloween episode is one of the strongest in the season.

Therefore, fans went into the episode with already high expectations. Sojourn didn't meet those expectations. Flashing back to show how Michael Langdon became the Antichrist, fans were bored with another flashback of the time before the bomb. Though the episode was interesting in showing what became of the baby from Season 1 (Michael was the son of Murder House characters Vivien Harmon and Tate Langdon), it put the brakes on the season building to a fight between Michael and the witches from Coven.

But the major error of the episode according to most fans? The characters Mutt and Jeff, two cocaine-addicted Satanists who work for a robotics company. Fans hated these comic reliefs who felt out of place in relatively more serious episode, finding them annoying and outright pointless.

Possibly the only thing keeping this episode from the number one spot is a strong monologue from Sandra Bernhardt and Sarah Paulson's many fantastic looks... but these only save the episode by a little.
