American Horror Story: 10 Saddest Deaths
1. Violet Harmon
In the first series of American Horror Story, fans were introduced to the Harmon family when they moved into their new, stylish Californian home in hopes of mending their fractured relationships.
Unfortunately for them, the titular Murder House which this series took its name is one of the most haunted houses in America.
Stuck in the middle of the turbulent family drama was Violet Harmon (Taissa Farmiga). An angsty teenager suffering from depression, Violet would soon become captivated with her new home's dark history as well as her new neighbour, Tate Langdon (Evan Peters). The pair form a strong bond, with Tate being the only source of true happiness in Violet's life.
However, when the teenager learns of Tate's murderous past, tragedy strikes. Heartbroken by the revelation, Violet attempts suicide with sleeping pills to be saved by Tate - or so we're led to believe.
Later, in the anthology's most harrowing twist to date, we learn that Violet did succeed in taking her own life.
When Tate shows Violet her body under the floorboards, the image of her rotting corpse is shocking enough, but it's the pair's raw performances that renders this scene completely devastating. It's as shocking or viewers as it is for Violet.
