American Horror Story: 10 Scariest Moments

9. The High School Massacre (Murder House)

You know a show is going to be brutal when the horrific slaying a number of teenagers in an all-too-close hit on school shootings barely makes the top ten spot. This particular mass killing - because in the world of American Horror Story, there are quite a few of them - is highlighted through its POV of troubled shooter Tate (Evan Peters), whose portrayal of the conflicted, desperately dark and broken Tate proved to be a highlight of Murder House for viewers. Tate slaughters his classmates, remorselessly gunning them down in a sequence fraught with tension and fear, even though you already know who doesn't make it through the firefight. Tate then escapes to his house where he is gunned down by a SWAT team, kickstarting the journey of one of American Horror Story's most troubled, dangerous, and charming characters, and an iconic role for Peters. Suffice it to say, this is not the last time he'll be featured on this list...
