American Horror Story: Apocalypse - 3 Ups & 2 Downs From 'Traitor'

Downs...

2. The Lack Of Plot Progression

While there is plenty to love about Traitor, the fact that it did little to advance the narrative doesn't go unnoticed. Sure, Cordelia and the gang figure out who Michael's accomplice is, and they successfully dispose of Miss Mead, but in the grand scheme of things, not very much happened. What's more, the episode is rather self-indulgent, wasting far too much time on pointless humorous segments.

The opening moments see Dinah killing an adulteress in order to perform magic on a rich woman's husband. The scene went on for over three minutes, and added nothing to the narrative. It gets worse after the credits, when viewers are introduced to Joan Collins' second character - an actress named Bubbles. Bubbles is truly great, but the same can't be said for the first few scenes in which she features. The character takes part in a B-movie, forcing us to sit through four minutes of her filming which, again, advances the plot in no way whatsoever.
