7. Sarah Paulson’s Direction

While one of Sarah Paulson's signature AHS characters did make one or two appearances (more on that later), the actress spent most of her time on Return To Murder House behind the camera, directing the episode. She might be something of a novice in the directing department, but you’d have no idea from the finished product.

Moments such as Constance’s re-introduction on the staircase, to the character’s spat with Moira the maid are spectacularly directed, and the chosen angles only intensify the drama. Similarly, Constance’s monologue is another standout segment, which features several up-close shots of the troubled woman, which helps in conveying the character's emotion really well.

If Return To Murder House is anything to go by, then Paulson is a natural director. Hopefully it’ll be the first of many AHS episodes directed by the Emmy-winning actress. Is there anything she can’t do?
