American Horror Story: The Best Character Of Each Season So Far
6. AHS: Roanoke - Lee Harris
Roanoke is undeniably American Horror Story's most divisive and narratively haphazard season, but even so it still features some of the show's most memorable characters, including Kathy Bates' horrifying possessed killer The Butcher, and the instalment's MVP, Lee Harris.
Formerly a police officer, Harris is portrayed as an addict whose husband has left her and is unable to see her daughter. During her divorce, she stays with her brother Matt and his wife Shelby on Roanoke Island, where she's terrorised by visions of murder and monsters.
Portrayed at first by Angela Bassett and then by Adina Porter, Lee's involvement with the horrors of Roanoke Island forms the backbone of the season, as she attempts to save her missing daughter, fight the island's twisted history, and convince the world she had nothing to do with the killing spree she miraculously survived.
American Horror Story has a knack for writing hardened survivors willing to do anything for their loved ones, and Lee Harris is definitely one of the show's best heroes in that respect.
