When Stan decided not to hand over the Echo information, he essentially gave Nina over to the Soviets. The deal was, Stan cooperates and Nina goes free. By refusing to play ball, Stan has thrown her back to the wolves, who will likely kill her once she goes back to the Motherland. Nina's fate was left ambiguous, though Oleg and Arkady were certain that she would be executed. Despite all of the work she did deceiving Stan, her efforts at making him betray his country didn't work. Additionally, she only got into that mess because she was initially stealing information for the Americans. That kind of treason is not acceptable, and is even less so now that her efforts to rectify that betrayal didn't pan out.
