Archer: 10 Best Supporting Characters
8. Ray
Raymond Gillette's first appearance is in season one's fifth episode, Honeypot, where he began his initial recurrence on the show as an ISIS field agent. Ray has been a regular supporting character since season two, and has only missed some of the fun since for season eight's Dreamland - one of Archer's comatose fantasies - where he appears in only two episodes as a member of the Dreamland House Band.
Both flamboyantly gay and occasionally tough as nails, Ray comes from a gun-toting family of hillbillies, several of whom have made it into the show - perhaps most notably his brother Randy. Having been paralysed by a space shuttle crash (thanks to everyone's favourite alcoholic, Sterling Archer), he has gradually undergone several physical transformations that have left him with a bionic arm and legs.
Ray is voiced with a slight lisp by series creator, writer, director and producer, Adam Reed, who also voices Bilbo, the Lord of the Rings-loving ISIS control room operator.
